AF-X Blade Measuring Machine

The Brown & Sharpe high-speed, fully automatic, non-contact AF-X turbine blade measuring machine combines laser stripe illumination and high performance line scan cameras with a rigid machine frame to accurately measure critical airfoil features such as leading and trailing edge, chord length, thickness, twist, bow, and profile. The AF-X sensor system can collect up to 20,000 data points per second, measuringan airfoil up to 200 mm long in less than one minute. Four sensors on the machine provide a full 360-degree coverage of the airfoil section. This machine is fully shop-hardened and uses a constant temperature environment within the measurement cell to assure accurate, repeatable results.
