PropLock

Wilson Locking Systems offers the PropLock, a lock for propellers to help prevent the theft of small aircraft. About the size of a tissue box, PropLock clamps onto the propeller base close to the airplane spinner. Any attempt to crank the motor throws the propeller out of balance and creates severe vibration, preventing take-off. Made of manganese, the PropLock is difficult to cut with a torch or hack saw, weighs about 3 pounds, and is covered in a polyurethane epoxy to prevent scratches.
